After hundreds of iterations of different designs, it turns out the best was one of the first - or maybe i just managed to sell it because i liked it so much. There are some alternate versions which are interesting - including the 'Leaf Monster' and the mongoloid-eye-goggler! I almost ALWAYS start out with paper & pencil, even when i know the finished work will be all digital. just old skool like that.

Drawn, of course, while drinking coffee - and in the 'good old days' when you could smoke AND drink coffee at the same time. Which is now illegal. A feeling of danger which may add excitement to this sketch, or simply make it more ridiculous. You decide..
